Cooperation Council

The highest decision-making body of the Nordic Archipelago Cooperation is the Cooperation Council. The Cooperation Council consists of a maximum of 21 members, with up to seven from each of the three subregions.

The Council’s term follows the terms of the bodies that appoint its representatives.
The Council shall hold at least one regular meeting per year.

The date for the next council meeting was set for May 12, 2027, in Turku.


For the 2027 council meeting, Jyri Arponen was elected chair. Ingrid Zetterman from the Government of Åland was elected vice chair, and Ann-Cathrin Rothlind from Region Sörmland was elected second vice chair.
